A Pro Poor Tourism Development project with key focus on access to basic services, infrastructure development, provision for livelihood opportunities, conservation of heritage and enhancing visitation at the destination. The project included a forest area in Mathura as well as the most iconic Bankey Bihari temple region. The project included Detailed activity mapping of both areas, assessment of Community and livelihood linkages, heritage conservation, basic services and infrastructure development along the river stretch, visitor flow assessment and pattern of movement. Pro poor tourism development conceptualization and setting future development priorities was a critical project component.
